Our Mission

The mission of the Park University Academic Success Center is to encourage and help students achieve academic excellence during their studies at Park by helping them learn to think critically, communicate effectively, and become independent learners in order that they may engage in lifelong learning and better serve a global community.

College Placement Testing

Incoming students to Park University may be required to take placement exams. The test is online. It can be taken from anywhere at any time. 

COMMON ISSUES STUDENTS ENCOUNTER

  • The username and password are not working: Type the information in (caps sensitive) rather than copying and pasting the information
  • Test is empty or asking for a code: This can be found in the email instructions sent to students (ENGLISH or MATH)
  • The test’s website is not working: Complete the test on a computer, no phone or tablet. The test works best in Google Chrome/ Firefox

TEST PREPARATION RESOURCES 

  • FDMA 101: Foundational Mathematics Course
    • This course was created by the Math department to help students prepare for the Math College Placement Test. The course is free, self-paced course. Students will have to self-enroll in the course to complete it. Please send the student's this information so they can access the course.

Testing Services

Our services have gone remote, Park University's Testing Services has you covered!

  • CLEP & DSST Exams: Take advantage of our remote testing assistance for CLEP and DSST exams, which allow you to earn college credit for prior knowledge.

Students with Approved Accommodations: If you have approved accommodations through Learner Access and Disability Services, please contact them directly for assistance with remote testing at disabilityservices@park.edu

CLEP Testing

CLEP testing can now be done completely remote!

CLEP now offers remote proctored exams. This means you can take a CLEP test at home instead of at a testing center. The test itself, including time limits, content, and format, is the same as the in-person version. A real person will watch you during the exam to make sure you follow the rules.

Academic Success Center - Parkville Campus

The Academic Success Center is located in the Academic Underground Mabee Learning Center, Room MA222 (across from the bookstore). We offer many services to help our students with their academic progress. All our services are free of charge to Park University students!
During the regular semester, the ASC is open:
 
Monday - Thursday   8:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Friday                      8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Saturday                 10:00 a.m.- 3:00 p.m.
Sunday                    5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. 

Computer Lab - Parkville Campus

Desktop computers are available at the Academic Success Center for students to use. Computers are available during tutoring hours. Additionally, laptop computers can be check-out for free at the Kiosks in the underground. Our staff will help you learn how to use this equipment if you are not familiar with it. 

StepUP Mentoring Program

 

STEPUP

StepUP is an enhancement of the services provided by the Academic Success Center. All Park University Metro Area students are welcome to apply. StepUP is free to all students. StepUp mentors area available to assist Park students via Face to Face, virtual and phone appointments. To schedule an appointment with a mentor, click here.

StepUP students work with a professional mentor who assists them in setting goals, developing talents, and making connections with people and services to help them be successful in their quest for a college degree.  They may also take part in several special events through the year, and be eligible for recognition, gifts, and incentives. StepUP services are provided at no charge, but space in the program is limited. To apply, complete the application form
