2023 Think Tank

Timeline for Think Tank Event:

  • Deadline for submissions: February 20th
  • Plan and rehearse with presenters: February 21st-March 2nd
  • Presentations: March 3rd- 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm CST (via Zoom)

What are we looking for?

The Staff Advisory Council is seeking any and all ideas that could potentially benefit our staff. However, in order to meet the criteria for presenting, your idea must be staff-focused and include a suggested milestone or action plan. In addition, the judging committee will be scoring the final presentations based on creativity, feasibility, and impact on staff. You can learn more about how the judges will be evaluating presentations by viewing the judge guidelines.

In addition, this year we are looking to share knowledge of initiatives currently in progress across the university. If your department is working on a project that benefits our staff, we want to hear about it! (See below for more information).

Who can present?

Any Park employee is welcome to present, but within the presenting group there must be a full-time staff representative. We also emphasize that campus centers and distance employees are encouraged to participate. Any presenters from a distance will have the ability to present via Zoom.

Guidelines for Think Tank Ideas:

  • Individuals may submit more than one idea, but will only be entered in the raffle ONCE.
  • Members of the Staff Advisory Council are welcome to submit ideas (members of the judging committee excluded from the raffle).
  • Fun ideas are welcome!
  • All ideas will be submitted to Staff Advisory Council leadership, but judges will identify top 5 ideas, ideas that met the criteria, and the submissions that did not meet all criteria.
  • If duplicate ideas are submitted, the judging committee will take first come first serve, but will also offer the idea for the submitters to team up.
  • Presentations will be scored based on creativity, feasibility, and impact on staff.

Guidelines for Department Current Project:

The purpose of this category is to offer an outlet to share information about some projects or initiatives that are already in motion and might affect/benefit our staff. If your department has something in motion that you'd like to share, this is a great opportunity!

  • Must be a project currently in progress.
  • Must be an initiative that affects staff.
  • This category isn't eligible for the Think Tank prizes listed above.

If you have additional questions, please contact staffadvisorycouncil@park.edu regarding the think tank.
